Ciao a tutti,
ROMA
Il tempo cambia ogni cosa
La gente muore,
gli edifici crollano,
perfino l'amore, a volte, finisce.

.
Una poesia "ad effetto", direi... . -

SOON
Too long I've been wandering
Looking for some truth that there is not.
Too long I have forgotten,
My real task in this world.
Too long I've been listening
To the whispers carried by the wind,
To the point I no longer hear the cries from afar
The cries of your wounded soul.
Mine's not the gift of magic,
Nor music, nor any of the arts.
I cannot cure diseases,
nor heal wounds.
I have no pill or tablet
For you to swallow down
I have no magic stick nor spell to cast,
Nothing that could shatter
The invisible glass that encases our hearts.
I make a living out of words,
and some say I'm good at that.
But sometimes words escape me,
and I am left speechless,
as I contemplate the injustices of life
And my own foolishness.
Too long have I thought
That I was the only one to suffer
Too long have I forgotten
All the good times we shared,
And all those times when a word from you
Would save me from despair and give me strength.
True, I have my own road to walk upon,
but I won't walk alone.
No, not until my friends are hurt,
frostbite, scorched by the sun,
blinded by light or darkness
and left alone to suffer in the open.
Soon
We'll all walk together.
Soon
We'll have the happiness we deserve.
Soon
We'll make our withered dreams blossom again
Soon
The world will shake as we will fight back.
Soon
We'll rise again. Together.
For even in the darkest hours
We'll stand side by side.
No matter how far we may be from each other,
Our hearts and souls are always near
And as we enter the fray,
holding our breaths,
with our fists clenched,
our eyes trying to pierce the darkness before us
We know we're not alone.
We know we can reach out
And hold each other's hand.
Divided we may fall
United we can stand everything.. -

Bella!
Si riesce a capire benissimo (at least by me ), sembra quasi una traduzione dall'italiano...
Indubbiamente più introspettiva e profonda della precedente...
Perché in inglese? La destinataria era anglosassone?. -

Perché in inglese, bella domanda....

@Car: cose' il il PBF ?. -

Adrift in a sea of sorrow
Adrift in a sea of sorrow,
the land is nowhere in sight
There’s no safe haven to dock in
no lighthouse to tear the night’s veil
Days pass,
each one as empty and pointless as the one before
How long have we been sailing?
Nobody knows for sure.
We don’t know where we’re heading
And most of us don’t even care
Some of us lose their minds,
and let themselves be carried away by tide and wind,
Others seek only a fleet to follow,
hoping that it would lead them ashore
Don’t let others draw your route
Don’t let them fool you.
We all know our path, deep inside us.
Close your eyes,
Smell the wind,
Listen to the sea’s cry
Remember all you’ve known
Choose a bearing
And follow it with your heart,
Until you feel the time to change has come
It may be the right one,
It may be the wrong one
But you won’t know until you try.
Trust your instincts, trust yourself
And never give up.

E se prima traducessi questa? In cambio ti pago da bere, eh?

Addirittura, wow!
Passano i giorni,
ciascuno vuoto e inutile come il precedente
Da quanto tempo siamo in mare?
Nessuno può dirlo con sicurezza
Non conosciamo la nostra meta
E a molti nemmeno importa
